There was a sending forth of the Spirit, for we read " Thou sendest forth Thy Spirit, and they are created and Thou renewest the face of the earth " (Psalm civ. 30), There seems to have been an actual descending of the Holy Spirit, for Ezekiel says " The Spirit of the Lord fell upon me " (chap. xi.
