NewTown Institute The International NewTown Institute (!NTI), based in Almere the Netherlands, IS a new scientific institute specialized m research and education on new towns worldwide INT! aims to become an international knowledge centre for, amongst others, scientific researchers, students and professionals engaged in the development and regeneration of new towns Participants in !NTI are the University of Amsterdam, Delft University of Technology, the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, the New Land Heritage Centre in Lelystad and the Public Library of Almere After a two year preparation the International NewTown institute has started m 2008 Initially, there will be a small staff We are looking for

Co-operator New Town Simulator (mm 24 hrs)

An academic director with an enterprising personality and broad knowledge of research and/or education in the field of city development, business sense and experience in negotiating with various parties, proven managerial skills m research projects and excellent command of the Dutch and English language A co-ordinator education to set up mteruniversitary graduation labs, a semester on simulation modelling and a module New Towns Experience m academic and higher education is required Knowledge of international education will be an advantage A co-operator New Town Simulator to initiate the institute's simulation lab in which many aspects and different phases of new town development can be simulated Knowledge of urban planning and (simulation-) models is required We offer The institute offers an inspiring, scientific working environment, in which research and education are closely integrated In the initial phase of the INTI good organizational skills are essential for attaining a successful social and scientific position for the institute The salary will be in conformity with 'CAD Dutch Universities' The salary of the director will be at the level of associate professor Please submit your application before July 1st 2008 to !NTI, mrs ir Mai it Geluk, mfo@newtowninstitute org or Schrijverstraat 1, 1315 HW Almere, the Netherlands Visit www.newtowninstitute.org.
