KRISTELIG LAEGEFORENING I DANMARK „Kristelig Laegeforening i Danmark" (The Christian Medical Association in Denmark, herein after referred to as K.L.), has existed for 54 years and is thus the oldest Christian association of professional men in the country. K.L. numbers about 250 members — besides 150—200 members of two daughter societies: The Medical Students' Christian Associations in Copenhagen and in Aarhus. We sincerely wish that many more Christian doctors would support the association, as with increased membership we should be able to accomplish still more than we do. The purpose of the association is 1) to strengthen the individual members in their common faith in Christ, 2) to develop Christian influence among our colleagues and all with whom they come into contact, and 3) to send out medical missionaries to non-Christian countries. The founders of the association have now passed on, but we still have members from the very first years who show a never-failing interest and affection for the cause. In K.L., as elsewhere, we have experienced the ebb and flow of enthusiasm and interest, but most of us feel a constant gratitude for the association, because we have there known the reality of Christian fellowship, the strength of unity in faith and felt the inspiration to reach out in an ever-widening sphere. Looking to Norway, we see that their association has enjoyed the fruits of the great Christian renaissance which followed the Oxford movement. We have not here in Denmark observed such results, and we have had all the negative consequences of ,,Barthianism" („Tidehvervsbevaegelsen") to fight against. This has brought our association membership to a standstill. The chief aims of K.L. are 1. To keep Christian fellowship ever to the fore, and as long as this need for fellowship exists among our Christian colleagues the association will never die. 2. The medical mission has always been a matter near to our hearts. K.L. has brought home the significance of this cause to the Danish Church, and the medical missionaries have very often felt the association as their spiritual home in Denmark. We have supported them to the best of our ability, both materially and spiritually. About 15 medical missionaries are at present working in non-Christian countries. 3. A feeling of ecumenical fellowship in Scandinavia has taken an important place. 4. K.L. has fought for many social causes and reforms, such as for instance the abolition of prostitution, of abortion on social indications, enlightenment in sexual hygiene on an ethical basis, advisory centres for marital problems, co-operation with the leaders of the church, psychic therapy, books and pamphlets for the sick, and so on. To anyone desiring further information concerning K.L. I would recommend the jubilee book published in 1947 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of K.L. The author is H. I. Schou, for 18 years the president of the association, which he has served and distinguished more than anyone else. Dr AAGE REHFELD, Randers. Résumé: „L'association chrétienne des médecins" au Danemark existe depuis 54 ans. Elle compte 250 membres environ, auxquels il faut aj outer 150—200 membres d'étudiants chrétiens de médecine, qui ont des sections a Copenhague et a Aarhus. Le but de cette association est 1) de fortifier chez chaque membre la foi en Christ, 2) de chercher a étendre l'influence chrétienne parmi des coUègues et autres personnes
