PREFACE The origin of this international number is rather simple. Some years ago contact was brought about between the Dutch and the Swedish society of Christian doctors. The Dutch society considered the organising of an international congress of Christian physicians and asked the opinin of some foreign societies about this. At the same time Dr. Olofsson from Sweden was at work on plans to come to the publication of an international periodical of Christian doctors. At a conference of physicians in Switserland, which was called together by Paul Tournier, these plans were discussed and the two undersigned were requested to take action in this matter. Before calling together a congress of Christian doctors it seemed more advisable first to bring about contacts by publishing one single number, for which the cooperation of the editor-in-chief. Prof. Dr. G. countries. This number is the result of it. The publication was facilitated because the Dutch periodical: Faith and Science, organ of the Chr. Soc. of Physicists and Physicians in the Netherlands has published it as a whole by way of an international number, for which the cooperation of the editor-inchief. Prof. Dr. G. A. Lindeboom, was obtained with thanks. The undersigned would appreciate it very much to receive all sorts of ideas to improve the relations among Christian doctors from all countries and to consolidate the mutual contact. All correspondence may be of importance to make another international number appear or even to collaborate in achieving an international periodical of Christian doctors. May this number answer the purpose of consolidating the ties among Christian physicians in various countries and of bringing them to a closer cooperation in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.
