The book before us reviews in a fragmentary manner several angles of this problem, for instance, the authors treat in detail the concept "leisure", and also deal with the fact that leisure problems cannot be understood without a knowledge of the groups that are confronted with them. The authors also dwell on the connection between work and leisure, in which the difficulty comes to the fore that leisure is largely intangible. It is natural that in connection with leisure, automation should be examined and a whole chapter is also devoted to the subject: Leisure, Taste and Occu-

pational Milieu. From the contents of this chapter we would like to mention the following. People of different occupations were interviewed about the question what they would do with two extra hours in the day (relaxing, reading, studying, specific recreational interests, etc.). In considering this question, professors expressed no desire to relax and are on the whole inclined to work more! Though most of the articles in this book have been written by sociologists for sociologists, I nevertheless recommend the reading of this study to all who are interested in this problem. A. C.
