The day lies hidden

where shadows die

and light is forbidden

to a star-ht sky

of flowers blooming

in a bed of blue

and garlands gloomy

in clouds of dew —

The moon makes a meadow

of every shght

and overcast shadow

by rivers of light

and a shy-colored crew

of butterfhes brings

a fairy tale true,

while the nightingale sings

your sweet dreams white —

and all that night

is up to you!
