eschatology is not an expendable feature of the gospel of Jesus

Christ. On the contrary, it belongs to its very essence. And the

eschatological perspective serves to heighten one's perception of

various facets of the gospel. At least some of these facets, as it

turns out, are precisely those which have come to recognition

especially in the Reformed faith. To the extent that they have not

so been recognized, or have failed to achieve fruition in the Hfe

of Christian people, there arises a new challenge to grasp in word

and deed the eschatological significance of the gospel.
